Step 02 · Brand Positioning

Own a position in your customer's mind that no competitor can copy

Positioning is the single most leveraged decision a D2C brand makes. Get it right and every ad, every email, every product page becomes 3× more effective. Get it wrong and you're competing on price forever.

Klientel's Brand Positioning process translates your audit insights into a clear, ownable strategy — a positioning statement, messaging hierarchy, tone of voice, and ICP that your entire team can execute from.

FAQ

Common questions

How is Brand Positioning different from branding?

Branding is how you look. Positioning is how you think. Positioning defines the mental space you want to own in your customer's mind — before a single logo or colour is chosen. It's the strategy that makes branding decisions obvious.

Will you redesign our logo or visual identity?

Not in this phase. Brand Positioning is a strategy deliverable. Visual identity updates (if needed) happen in Brand Presence. Many brands find their existing visuals work perfectly once the positioning is clear.

How long does Brand Positioning take?

Typically 2–3 weeks from kick-off to final delivery. This includes the workshop, two rounds of feedback, and the final playbook.

What if we already have a positioning statement?

We'll pressure-test it. Most positioning statements we review are either too broad ('premium quality for everyone') or too category-generic. We help you find the specific, ownable angle that competitors can't easily copy.
